Kirby Muxloe Recreation Ground
Kirby Muxloe Recreational Ground is close to the centre of the village and boasts a great variety of facilities, with a large children’s play park and outdoor gym equipment. It is situated next to local amenities including a library and within short walking distance to the local pub and deli ‘The Oak’.
Kirby Muxloe boasts some fascinating history with ruins of a 14th century castle encompassed by a moat which was built built by William Hastings during the War of the Roses. There is also a 14th century church where you can be called for service by the the enchanting bells being rung, and the swiss style school of 1810 continues to be an architectural vision of the village.

During this trail, you’ll see the historic towns of Kirby Muxloe and Glenfield and learn about a wide range of history that includes castles and Victorian engineering marvels. You’ll see how the district has been shaped over 600 years of history, covering urban and rural areas along the way.

Kirby Muxloe Guided Walk
Active Blaby also runs a guided health walk starting from Kirby Muxloe Library. hese Health Walks are quite short in length, relatively easy in pace and are delivered in a way to get you moving as a first step to building activity into your day. They are also a great chance to socialise with other like minded people and have some fun too!!
