Walking Routes
There are many attractive walking routes in and around Blaby District, both in our urban areas and out in the countryside or along the canal. We have a wide range of fantastic green spaces providing the opportunity for an enjoyable walk, a family day out and to keep in touch with nature.
All of our parks are free to use and everyone is welcome, so why not take some time out to explore some of the hidden gems local to you!

Fosse Meadows Walk
Fosse Meadows is a beautiful park in south Leicestershire, with bird watching, an arboretum and play areas for families to enjoy.
Bouskell Park Walk
Bouskell Park hosts some amazing walks through the historical town of Blaby incorporating the 17th Century Ice House, Blaby Hall and the old town.
Glen Parva Walk
Running through the award winning Glen Parva Nature reserve, The path through this area is part of the Sustrans cycle route and links up with the Great Central Way and Aylestone Holt Spinney. There is also access to a cafe and restaurant at Everards Meadows
Glen Parva Nature reserve
A Green Flag award-winning site with walks over the fields and alongside the Grand Union Canal. This site is ideal for families and picnics in the summer.
Osiers Walk
A walk through the Osiers Nature Reserve in Braunstone. The hard-surfaced path leads through mature woodland into meadows, featuring a stream and pond .
Whetstone way walk
This walk is made up of two small sections of a disused railway line. There is a picnic site with views to the three arch bridge near Littlethorpe Road. This is an attractive place for wildlife in the summer.
Crow Mills Walk
The paths here allow a circular walk with elevated views over South Leicestershire. This walk runs along a disused railway line through beautiful woodland adjacent to the Grand Union Canal and River Sence
Whistle Way Walk
This walkway is along a disused mineral railway line which was used for hauling granite from the quarry at Enderby. The walkway is lined with trees and there are good views to the River Soar and Whistle Meadows.
Jubilee Park Walk
This parkland is where the River Soar meets the River Sence and is popular with dog walkers. Jubilee Park provides a short walk for people of all ages. There is also a children’s playground on site.
